FAQs
What exactly does Porada Advisory do, and how is it different from others?
I help business owners and community leaders understand and trust their numbers.
Unlike traditional bookkeeping or accounting services, I don’t just prepare reports or manage your accounts behind the scenes. I work with you, step by step, to clean up your accounts, reshape your reports, and explain what everything means.
This is about financial clarity, not just compliance.
Who do you typically work with?
I work with overwhelmed business owners and community leaders, especially those managing their own accounts or relying on a treasurer, and who don’t fully trust their numbers.
Most of my clients feel unsure, avoid looking at their finances, or don’t feel confident in what they’re seeing.
What challenges are your clients usually facing when they come to you?
Clients are often dealing with messy or unclear accounts, reports that don’t make sense, and a constant feeling of second-guessing their numbers. Many are doing their best to stay on top of things, but just don’t feel confident that the data is right.
Why is it so tricky to define what you do? Are you an accountant or something else?
Think of me as a Strategic Business Advisor and Virtual CFO who happens to be a Chartered Accountant.
I take your numbers, strip away the confusing jargon, and translate them into a clear financial roadmap.
As a Virtual CFO (Chief Financial Officer), I can step into your leadership team on a fractional basis to provide high-level strategy, giving you the financial muscle of a major corporation without the full-time salary overhead.
As an Advisory Partner, I stand beside business owners and community leaders to ensure every major decision you make is backed by data, giving you total peace of mind and financial clarity.
Can you help my business if I am located outside of Melbourne?
Yes, absolutely. While I am a Chartered Accountant based in Melbourne, I partner with ambitious business owners and community leaders nationwide. Thanks to secure cloud accounting platforms and plenty of tech at our disposal, distance is no barrier to accessing sophisticated financial advisory services and building a resilient business anywhere in Australia.
When should a growing business hire a Virtual CFO?
You should consider Virtual CFO services when your business is generating consistent revenue but you lack the financial clarity to make confident, data-backed decisions. If you are struggling with forecasting, unsure about your reports, or just need a second set of eyes on a financial decision, a Virtual CFO can be the strategic assistance, without the overhead costs of a full-time hire.
What kind of results can I expect from working with you?
You can expect financial clarity, confidence, and a much stronger sense of control.
By the end of working together, you’ll understand your numbers, trust your reports, and know how to use them to make informed decisions. All this without relying on guesswork or avoidance.
What is the Financial Clarity Reset?
The Financial Clarity Reset is my core service, a tailored series of one-on-one workshops designed to clean up your accounts, make sense of your numbers, and create a clear financial roadmap.
It’s practical, personalised, and focused on helping you truly understand what’s going on in your business or organisation.
What does the Financial Clarity Reset process look like?
We work together across a series of structured workshops. We start by auditing and cleaning up your accounts, then reshape your reports so they’re relevant and useful. Along the way, I guide you through what everything means and how it all connects.
Each session builds on the last, and everything is documented so you can refer back to it.
What kind of support do you offer?
My core offering is one-on-one workshops, tailored to you.
I can also offer ongoing support after your reset. This allows you to check in at key milestones, ask questions, and stay on track as your business evolves.
I’ve worked with a bookkeeper before and didn’t get results, how is this different?
Bookkeepers often focus on completing tasks and keeping things compliant.
What’s usually missing is understanding.
Do I need to be good with numbers before working with you?
Not at all. In fact, most of my clients come to me because they don’t feel confident with their numbers.
My role is to help you understand them in a way that actually makes sense. No jargon, no assumptions.
Will you do the bookkeeping for me?
My focus is on helping you understand and improve your financial systems, so you’re not left dependent on someone else or in the dark about your numbers.
For aligned clients who have completed the ‘Finance Clarity Reset’, I do also offer the option of ‘Ongoing Clarity Support’.
What if my accounts are really messy?
That’s exactly where we start!
There’s no judgment here, we audit what’s there, clean it up, and rebuild from a solid foundation.
What tools or software do I need?
If you’re already using accounting software, we’ll work with what you have.
If not, I can guide you on what will suit your need, but the focus is always on understanding, not just the tool itself.
Will this help me get ready for tax time?
Yes! Having clean, accurate, and well-understood numbers makes tax time significantly easier.
While I don’t complete tax returns, I make sure you’re prepared and confident in what you’re providing.
What happens after we finish working together?
You’ll have clean accounts, tailored reports, and documented processes you can rely on.
Many clients also stay in touch for ongoing support at key moments, so you’re never left guessing again.
What if I don’t have time to deal with this right now?
That’s exactly why this work matters.
Avoiding your numbers doesn’t make them simpler, it just adds more stress over time.
This process is designed to make things easier, not more overwhelming.
How do I get started?
It starts with a conversation.
We’ll talk through where you’re at, what’s not working, and whether the ‘Financial Clarity Reset’ is the right fit for you.
